Event Apps for Conferences – the Campixx Events of Sumago GmbH

SEO & Content Marketing. Probably the two most important topics in online marketing at the moment. Someone who is quite familiar with this is the SUMAGO GmbH. And if they aren’t helping companies with their online appearances, then they are organizing the CAMPIXX events. And that’s exactly why they used the LineUpr app twice in 2018.

Find out in this interview what’s behind the term CAMPIXX and how they successfully used the LineUpr app for the two events. A great customer story. ?

LineUpr: Hello Team CAMPIXX. Thank you for taking the time to do this interview. Please introduce yourself and the SUMAGO GmbH.

Team CAMPIXX: Hello also from our side. The SUMAGO GmbH is a SEO & Content Marketing Agency from Berlin and the organizer of the CAMPIXX Events. Under the name CAMPIXX, various events have been unified for the last 11 years, designed to bring people together for mutual learning and getting to know each other in the areas of online and offline marketing. The Marketing Underground is a large cross-thematic event with up to 7,000 participants and the SEO CAMPIXX and CONTENTIXX are purely communication events with max. 700 participants.

LineUpr: You used LineUpr for two events. For the CONTENTIXX and SEO CAMPIXX. Can you tell us more about these two events? Which target group are you addressing here?

Team CAMPIXX: Exactly, we used the app for these two consecutive conferences. At CONTENTIXX, everything revolves around content marketing. The SEO CAMPIXX is intensively concerned with the topic of search engine optimization. Our target audience is wide-ranging and ultimately includes everyone working directly on the topic. The events are not intended for beginners but are built specifically for a professional level.

LineUpr: What strategies and tools do you use in addressing this target group? Do you attach particular importance to something special?

Team CAMPIXX: The CAMPIXX conferences are already a fixed part of the conference year for many in this scene. To address our target groups, we use almost all marketing-relevant measures here. These range from printed advertisements in specialist magazines to mailings, media co-operations, AdWords and Social Media campaigns, as well as newsletters.

LineUpr: Why did you decide to use an event app for these events?

Team CAMPIXX: We needed an app to offer the information digitally structured for the participants. We chose LineUpr because this app is a PWA. Thus the participants did not have to download an app onto their mobile phone – often this is not permitted with company mobile phones.

LineUpr: How long before the events did you start building the app? How much time did you spend on the app?

Team CAMPIXX: The planning of the events started in April 2018, directly after the last events. We learned about LineUpr at the beginning of July and at the end of July we started to deal with the app. We cannot define a precise amount of time invested here, but it should be said that the app in the backend is very user-friendly and self-explanatory. When questions arose, the LineUpr support was helpful and quickly at our side. Here also a thumbs up for your service.

LineUpr: When and how did you inform the participants about the app?

Team CAMPIXX: We informed our participants about the app through our event homepage and a newsletter. The app was incorporated on the program page, so that on the one hand the participants were able to directly access the program and on the other hand they were directed to the app.

LineUpr: How did your visitors react to the app?

Team CAMPIXX: The participants were impressed. Especially with a BarCamp concept, presentation titles can change at short notice. With the app, we have the opportunity to incorporate changes just in time and to also inform users via InApp notifications.

LineUpr: What did you like most about LineUpr and what can we still improve?

Team CAMPIXX: The structure in the backend more or less self-explanatory, data can be entered super quickly and easily, even small changes are done quickly without much effort. Here again a compliment to the LineUpr support, which was quickly and professionally available. The possibility to organize the program points in a printable format by means of DragNDrop would be the icing on the cake.

LineUpr: What top tips would you like to give other organizers when using LineUpr?

Team CAMPIXX: 1. Inform attendees that it is a WebApp/PWA and nothing needs to be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple Store. 2. Stop looking for other providers, LineUpr can do everything you need and has very good support.
