<p>Sponsors are an essential part of the financing for many events. Therefore, organizers invest a large portion of their working time to convince sponsors to invest in their event. But this is easier said than done because sponsors want to recognize the added value of the investment. Therefore, a smart person invented the idea of sponsorship packages.</p>
<p>In these packages, you define how and where sponsors can present themselves and what contribution they can make. As a central communication tool, the areas in the event app should be an elementary part of your sponsorship offers.</p>
<p>We will show you which typical sponsorship models exist and how these principles apply to your event and develop the sponsorship packages that are right for you.</p>
<h2><strong>A &#8211; Multilevel Sponsorship Concept</strong></h2>
<p>Most organizers work with a multi-level model. Depending on the level chosen, the sponsor receives a previously defined selection of presentation options and contact points for the event participant. Typical examples are gold, silver and bronze sponsors. You can create your variant of this concept in three steps:</p>
<h2>1.   Define Different Levels</h2>
<p>Typical examples of such stages are gold, silver, and bronze. Many organizers also work with individual event modules such as the technology sponsor, catering sponsor or program sponsor. You and your imagination have no limits. It is crucial that the terms are understandable and related to your event.</p>
<h2>2.   How Many Sponsors Are Allowed?</h2>
<p>Now that the terms are clear, it&#8217;s about the number of sponsors for each level. Your desired sponsoring budget should be decisive. What amount do you want to earn? You should divide this amount over the different packages. For more exclusive packages, you can ask for higher prices. If you&#8217;re going to work with a lot of sponsors, then you should correct the prices accordingly.</p>
<p>It should be noted that exclusivity also means that sponsors will contact you sooner. This allows for better budget planning.</p>
<h2>3.   Give the Steps Life</h2>
<p>Now you can set the range of presentation options for each type of package. Please remember, the more expensive a package, the more exclusively the sponsor should be presented. Since we are in regular contact with our customers, we were often allowed to use such a multi-level model on our event app. Here is a typical example:</p>

<h2><strong>B &#8211; A La Carte Sponsor Concept</strong></h2>
<p>As the title suggests, the sponsor can put together his individual package here. This model is primarily for sponsors, who know precisely how and where they want to present themselves at your event.</p>
<p>Although this model saves you the tedious task of creating packages, you will need a list of all options. It&#8217;s best to put these options in different areas such as before the event, during the event, etc. As far as prices are concerned, you could either define a price for each option or you can negotiate the price individually. Here&#8217;s an example:</p>
<h2>1.   Before the Event</h2>
<ul>
<li>Link the sponsor&#8217;s logo to your event registration page</li>
<li>Use your social media accounts to promote and link the sponsor before the event (link to the profile in the app)</li>
<li>Promote the program points and speakers of your sponsor by connecting them in the e-mails before the event (link to the program point in the app)</li>
</ul>
<h2>2.   During the Event</h2>
<ul>
<li>Create a sponsorship profile for your sponsor</li>
<li>Use the sponsor&#8217;s logo for the app icon</li>
<li>Use the logo of the sponsor in the cover picture of the app</li>
<li>Use the sponsor&#8217;s logo for the footer image of the app</li>
<li>Link further information and documents of the sponsor on his profile</li>
<li>Create personal profiles for the sponsor and mix them under the participants’ profiles</li>
<li>Create surveys and rooms with the name of the sponsor</li>
<li>Send In-App messages on behalf of the sponsor</li>
</ul>
<h2>3.   After the Event</h2>
<ul>
<li>Mention your sponsor in the first email after the event</li>
<li>Use the sponsor&#8217;s logo for event presentation materials after the event</li>
<li>Use the name of the sponsor in the feedback survey after the event</li>
</ul>

<p>This article is about the evaluation of usage statistics. It ties in with the article <a href="https://blog.lineupr.com/en/optimize-reach-event-app/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Advantages of a Well-Promoted Apps</a>. As an example, we have chosen the sponsors. We think you can get even more out of your sponsors with measurable numbers showing the sponsors’ reach.</p>
<p>We will show you how to evaluate the usage statistics of the corresponding subpages. Just use this guide and try it out. The results are really very interesting!</p>
<h2>Google Analytics &#8211; the integration</h2>
<p>In your Plus and Premium package, we have already prepared an integration with Google Analytics for you. All you have to do is connect your account to LineUpr. <h2>Analysis using the sponsors as an example</h2>
<p>We would like to explain the analysis of the usage data to you by, for example, visits to your sponsors&#8217; profiles. But before we start, here is an explanation of the benefits that this will bring you.</p>
<p>Many offers towards the sponsors are still based on publishing a logo on printed materials such as flyers and posters. In the days of digital promotion, this is, for many reasons, no longer a good deal: Firstly, the conversion from paper to a digital media like a smartphone is relatively poor if the added value is not given. This means that only very few participants will continue to deal with the sponsor at all. Secondly, paper is pretty unwise when it comes to analyzing usage statistics.</p>

<p>Now just imagine how happy your sponsors would be if you could give them a document which shows them exactly how many people viewed the sponsor’s profile and how often. If you then negotiate a bit more, not only will you have the deal for next year in your pocket, but you can certainly get more out of it.</p>
<h2>The Concrete Steps &#8211; Analysis of the Data</h2>
<p>Now we can go into the analysis of the data. The sponsors’ profiles are always hidden in the same place of the app. The link there, however, varies every time. This is composed of your organizer’s name and the event name. In addition, each sponsor has its own link. An example link looks like this: https://www.lineupr.com/[Organiser]/[Event]/[sponsors]/[name of the sponsor]</p>
<p>Here is the explanation of the link:</p>
<ul>
<li>Organiser: The name of your LineUpr account.</li>
<li>Event: The name of your event.</li>
<li>Sponsors: By default, this is called &#8220;sponsors&#8221;. If you changed the wording in the settings (for example to partner), your choice will appear here.</li>
<li>Name of Sponsor: Here the name of the sponsor is displayed.</li>
</ul>
<p>Of course, you can present sponsors in different places in the app, for example under locations. More tips about this can be found in this article: <a href="https://blog.lineupr.com/en/sponsoring-event-app/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">https://blog.lineupr.com/en/sponsoring-event-app/</a></p>
<p>Of course, this works similarly for other pages in the app.</p>
<p><strong>Tip: If you do not know the link to the page that you want to find in Google Analytics, just open the page in the CMS (for example, a specific point in the program) and look at the address bar. The line after the last slash (&#8220;/&#8221;) is your search term. If the search does not produce any results, that corresponds to a number of 0 views.</strong></p>
<h2>Filter Google Analytics</h2>
<p>Now that you know what to look for, you can ask Google Analytics for it. This works best by following these steps:</p>
<ol>
<li>On the left sidebar go to &#8220;Behaviour&#8221; (1) and then to &#8220;Overview&#8221; (2)</li>
<li>Now go below the table on the right to &#8220;show full report&#8221; (3)</li>
</ol>

<p>Now you can see an overview of all subpages. In the search bar (4) you can now look for different keywords. Just enter it and click on the small magnifying glass (5).</p>

<p>In the picture below, you can see all the pages of the app that match your search term. The entries are sorted by the frequency of the views. In our case, we have blurred the links for privacy reasons. The first entry is the one for the sponsor’s overview and contains all the views on the subpages, i.e. the sponsors’ profiles. The second entry refers to the page where you can edit the sponsors in the CMS. Therefore, it has nothing to do with the actual use of the app.</p>

<h2>The Evaluation</h2>
<p>Now you know how to get the data that you can share with your sponsors. The view generated can also be saved and shared. Simply click on &#8220;Export&#8221; (6 in the picture above) and select PDF as the file format. You can repeat the search and export process for each of your sponsors.</p>

<p>In this tutorial, we deal in detail with sponsors in the app. We will show you how to develop an interactive presentation of your supporters.</p>
<p>The app offers many additional possibilities to present your sponsors and their products. This <a href="https://blog.lineupr.com/en/sponsors-event-app/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">article</a> explains further options.</p>
<p>As always, you will see examples of all the suggestions discussed here in our demo app.</p>
<h2>Your First Sponsor Profile</h2>
<p>First, log into your account and access the dashboard of your event. Now navigate to the menu item &#8220;Sponsors&#8221; (1) and initiate the creation with a click on &#8220;+ Add Sponsor&#8221; (2).</p>

<p>Now you should see the creation screen. To set up a new profile, enter the &#8220;Name&#8221; (3) of the sponsor. After that, you can already save and publish the profile with &#8220;Create&#8221; (4).</p>

<h2>Additional Features</h2>
<p>Besides the sponsor&#8217;s name, LineUpr offers you additional options to present external information and pictures.</p>
<p>1. Image (5)</p>
<p>You can include pictures for each sponsor profile. Most event organizers use the company logo here.</p>
<p>To use this option, either drag and drop your image or click on &#8220;Pick Image&#8221; and select one of the already existing ones. Or you can also upload an additional image by using the &#8220;Upload Images&#8221; button.</p>
<p>LineUpr supports JPEG and PNG formats. The image should be at least 300&#215;300 pixels in size and square. We also offer an image editor for optimal depiction. To use it, first select the image. Now you see three options beneath the picture. With &#8220;Change&#8221; you can select a new image, with &#8220;X&#8221; you delete it and with the „Pencil“ button you can change the size (zoom), the background color and the position of the image. For corporate logos, the option of zooming is of primary interest, since many logos are rather wide and not quadratic.</p>
<p>2. Name (3)</p>
<p>Yes, you can change the name of the profile afterward.</p>
<p>For this, we have developed the input field &#8220;Name&#8221; in the first segment &#8220;General&#8221;.</p>
<p>3. Subtitle (6)</p>
<p>Present your sponsor with a message! This text is displayed beneath the name in the profile view.</p>
<p>Use this feature to present theme or vision of the sponsor. Or use it as a call to action like &#8220;talk to us!&#8221;.</p>
<p>4 Category (7)</p>
<p>You can assign a category to your sponsors.</p>
<p>Many events work with different types of sponsors. There are main sponsors, sponsors for technology, catering or location. Other event managers merely work with gold, silver and bronze sponsors.</p>
<p>The category function is used to make these different types of supporters visible. You can also use this feature to present your gold sponsors on the start screen of the app.</p>
<p>To use categories, either select an existing category in the &#8220;Category&#8221; field or create a new one using the &#8220;+&#8221; button.</p>
<p>5. Sorting (8)</p>
<p>By default, sponsors are listed in alphabetical order according to the profile name. However, sponsors who spend more should be presented more prominently.</p>
<p>Therefore LineUpr offers you the possibility to define the order yourself. To do so, use the field &#8220;Sorting&#8221; in the first block &#8220;General&#8221;.</p>
<p>With this feature, the order is still determined alphabetically. Numbers are placed before letters and profiles with a one are displayed at the top. Higher numbers below.</p>
<p><strong><em>Note:</em></strong><em> The sorting is only displayed in the app and does not influence the order of the profiles in the LineUpr CMS. Here the sorting takes place according to the time of creation.</em></p>

<p>You can add a description text for sponsors. Tell your attendees more about the company. Which products do they offer? How do participants benefit?</p>
<p>Enter your text into the input field &#8220;Description&#8221;. We also offer a simple text editor to set bullet points and use <strong>bold</strong>, <em>italic</em> or <u>underlined</u> text.</p>
<p>7. Additional Information and Links (10)</p>
<p>Make sure to use the possibility of adding further external data to your sponsor profiles. You can link to the sponsor&#8217;s website, provide contact information such as phone number and email, or refer to other sources such as social networking profiles or product documents. Your sponsors will be happy if attendees can access their public channels via the app.</p>
<p>To integrate such information, at first, you have to select whether you want to enter a link, an email address or a phone number and choose &#8220;+ New Entry&#8221;. You have to enter links in full notation like „http://“. The same principle applies to telephone numbers and the area code.</p>

<p>Event apps are a relatively new invention. Therefore, many organizers have no experience in the area of presenting sponsors in an app. Some of the sponsors also do not yet know how to deal with the topic of in-app sponsoring. In order for this to change, we want to show you in this article how it works.</p>
<p>To do this, it is important to know on which pages in the app your guests are looking for information. The principle applies: The sponsors must be present on the pages that the guests visit in search of information. We also want to show you where in the app you can increase your sponsors&#8217; perception with pictures.</p>

<h3>Sponsoring in General: Money in Exchange for Coverage</h3>
<p>By definition, sponsorship is the promotion by means of money, goods or services. The reward for the sponsor is the greatest possible coverage and attention in order to be able to market his company or product.</p>
<p>Now we can focus on finding places in an event app that match the sponsors&#8217; goals. Specifically, we need to know where the guests spend most of the time in the app. This way you achieve two things: Firstly, you address most participants and secondly, the defensive attitude against sponsoring decreases since the participants move very consciously in the app in their search for information.</p>
<h3>Points of Interest: Where Are My Guests in The App?</h3>
<p>As described above, we are now looking for the most frequented places in an event app. We crunched the numbers and gained the following insights, which are exemplified by the in-app activities of LineUpr apps.</p>

<p>So now we know that the top 6 pages in an event app are program, lineup, posts, locations, info, and polls in descending order. Only then come the sponsor profiles as such. What is the reason for this? Quite simply! Because of the defensive attitude of the users. When a menu item is called &#8220;Sponsors&#8221;, very few users click on it voluntarily. You already know what to expect.</p>
<p>This is contradicted by the concept of product placement. The product or company to be advertised is brought to the attention of the viewer through suggestive placement and is usually perceived as belonging to it. Or do you think it&#8217;s a coincidence that Hank Moody always drives a Porsche in Californication?</p>
<p>So give your sponsors the opportunity to better integrate themselves and their products or services into your event app. We will show you exactly how this can work in the following steps. It is important that you do not blindly take all the actions! Please always evaluate whether the tips fit to the event and its external effect. Certainly, very few events can realize all possibilities, but you can always make a selection.</p>
<h3>The Classics: Visual Presentation of The Sponsors with Pictures, Profiles and Icons</h3>
<p>Before we get deep into the subject, here are the &#8220;classics&#8221; of in-app sponsoring. You can add your sponsors to the pictures in the header and footer of the app. For the footer, you can also assign a link that can lead to a home or product page of the main sponsor, for example.</p>
<p>Furthermore, we offer the sponsor profiles. Here your attendees can see who your sponsors are, what they do and how to reach them. Every sponsor also receives a profile picture. You can link these profiles for example in the program, the location or the lineup directly in the app.</p>
<p>With the app icon you can even put a sponsor on the home screen of your guests. This is freely selectable.</p>
<h3>The Program: Integrating Sponsors in The Points of Interest</h3>
<p>The program in the app is the most clicked area. So, it&#8217;s imperative that the sponsors get in here! Including the sponsors in the program can be implemented as soon as they will be on site with staff and/or stands. Simply enter the &#8220;opening hours&#8221; in the schedule. This step not only brings the sponsors to the center of attention, but also gives them the chance to show what exactly they are offering.</p>
<h3>The lineup: Integration in The Crowd</h3>
<p>Integrate the sponsoring staff into the lineup of the event! Preferably by means of a separate category. The sponsors get a face and are more than just a logo on the start page. In the profile of the respective person, it can then be shown again what they are dealing with, what is offered and with which questions they can be addressed.</p>
<h3>The Posts: Sponsored Content</h3>
<p>Offer your sponsors to send posts! The content may vary here: Announcements of demos etc. are just as possible as the notification of a lottery or the distribution of goodies. Here you are welcome to be creative. Ask your sponsors what they can think of! It is good when the sponsor can create additional value for the guests. Firstly, the post that is actually superfluous for the event is not perceived as disturbing and secondly, the perception of the sponsor is regarded as positive, since he has already offered something</p>
<h3>Location: Name the Rooms after Your Sponsors</h3>
<p>A simple, but for the perception of the sponsors among the participants effective way is the naming of rooms in the location after sponsors. This not only creates attention for the sponsors but can also ensure that the sponsors get involved in the use of the language of the participants. On the one hand by talking to each other, on the other hand by repeatedly mentioning the names in the program of your app.</p>
<h3>Surveys 1: Feedback for Your Sponsors</h3>
<p>This step is particularly suitable for sponsors of goods and services. While most of you use the surveys in the LineUpr app to gather feedback on the event, you can also ask questions on behalf of the sponsors. For example, if you financed the buffet through sponsorship, ask your guests on behalf of the company how they liked it!</p>
<h3>Surveys 2: Gamification with Sponsors</h3>
<p>In addition to collecting feedback, you can also use the surveys to refer more freely to the sponsors. This will then work again with sponsors who do not provide goods and services.</p>
<p>If your sponsors want to, you could create a quiz &#8211; similar to a scavenger hunt. Ask questions whose answers can only be answered through interaction with the sponsors and their offering! Effect: The guests are actively engaged with the offer of the sponsors. And because of the possibility of winning, the association of the guests is positive.</p>
<h3>The Arguments: In-App-Sponsoring Is Always Possible?</h3>
<p>With Web Apps you have the best argument in the direction of the sponsors. The reason for this is easy to understand. Native apps need to be downloaded and are often large. These two points cause many participants to refrain from using the app. Web apps do not need to be downloaded, they work like a website. The entry barrier is therefore minimized in order to allow the greatest possible coverage for sponsors.</p>
<p>Finally, a small hint: We do not recommend you to implement all the tips we have given here at once. After all, the promotion of the app depends on the participants&#8217; acceptance of the app as an information medium. If you overdo it, you will have a good chance of robbing yourself of important reach. So, you are better off choosing the techniques that best suit your event and your sponsors.</p>
